Seeing the Pyramids! Number 1 on The Bucket List

Seeing the Pyramids of Giza was something that I had already completed prior to making my list of “30 things to do before I’m 30″, but it was such a big thing to do – and one of the seven wonders of the world no less! That I felt it should still be included.

My sister and our then boyfriends booked a trip to Sharm el Sheikh, I had been very reluctant on the pricing of the holiday as I was supposed to be on a budget! Convinced by my sister Leah and my best friend Tommy, we proceeded to book the swanky Concorde el Salam on the coast of the Red Sea. Once there, the First Choice Guide sold us a round trip to Cairo, with a stop off at Giza to view the pyramids. We were warned when visiting Cairo that we must be respectful of the local culture and cover our arms and legs, of course I had hadn’t packed any cover up clothing being fully aware of the desert heat – this is why I look like an oddly dressed and sweaty munchkin in the pictures below!

I’ll always remember the moment the pyramids came into view, their size is flabbergasting! If you stand at the foot and try to look to the top, it gives you a terrible feeling of vertigo like you’re about to fall over.
